The Ecurie Ecosse outfit is celebrating a truly rewarding weekend, where a famous double victory was secured in the new Henderson LMP3 Cup Championship at Donington Park. The teams #79 Ligier was expertly navigated to victory on both Saturday and Sunday with Colin Noble and Alasdair McCaig posting fastest lap after fastest lap in the latter stages of both races to close down the leaders and overtake for victory.
In a year where the Ecurie Ecosse team celebrates its 60th anniversary of a famous 24 Hours of Le Mans victory, Omologato will adorn the racing outfit as it takes on the famous Le Mans 24 Hours race this summer.
As a result of the continued partnership, Omologato continues its run of limited edition Ecurie Ecosse chronographs. The watch marks F1 racing driver-turned entrepreneur David Murray’s efforts in 1951 to get the tiny Edinburgh-based team to win back-to-back Le Mans titles, against all of the odds. The watch pays homage to the outstanding way the team overcame the titans of the motorsport world, including Ferrari, Aston Martin, and Maserati.
Each Ecurie Ecosse Omologato watch is presented with a hand-signed booklet and packed in a specially made lacquered piano wood box. The timepiece boasts a Swiss Ronda Quartz movement and comes in a unique sunray blue or matte white finish in keeping with the truly unique a timeless colors of the Ecurie Ecosse team.
The partnership announcement came at a CKL Developments event. The British brand is the world’s leading specialist in restoration and design engineering of the 1950s and ‘60s Jaguar Sports and Racing Cars, based in East Sussex.
Ecurie Ecosse will next be in action at Monza for the opening round of the Le Mans Cup, 11-13 May, while the next round of the LMP3 Cup takes place at Brands Hatch 20-21 May. For the team, the emphasis is building on the almost perfect start at Donington Park.
