Cammish returns to Knockhill

Porsche Carrera Cup GB championship leader Daniel Cammish returns to Knockhill in Scotland for rounds 11 & 12 and will be hoping to repeat his double race-winning feat of 2015.

The Leeds-based driver enjoyed a close battle last year with 2014 champion Josh Webster, both drivers pushing each other hard at the front of the field, leaving the rest trailing. By his own admission, the 1.3-mile, 9-turn circuit nestled in the countryside north of Dunfermline, is not one of his strong circuits. Despite this, Dan has a very impressive track record at Knockhill, having won three races at the track during his dominant Formula Ford campaign in 2013 in addition to his two 2015 Carrera Cup wins.

The stated aim however is to win and Dan will be doing his best to continue his winning streak in the Nationwide Crash Repair/PPG sponsored car. He currently leads the championship standings by 20 points over nearest rival Dino Zamparelli. With ten rounds gone and six remaining, Dan will be hoping to add to his seven wins this year with more victory trophies this weekend.

“There is a Carrera Cup group test on Tuesday then we will just go from there,” said Dan. “We did well there last year. It’s not a circuit that suits my style but we’ve got a new class of drivers this year, different people to race against, no Josh (Webster), no Mike (Meadows) so we’ll have to see if these guys are as good as they were. It’s one of those that I just have to get to and just do the best job I possibly. I did it last year and I came away with two wins.”
