World premiere at the Essen Motor Show: initiative for safe tuning starts the new campaign year with TIKT Performance Corvette
A powerful look for a powerful campaign: TUNE IT! SAFE! presents innovative design and maximum precision
Innovative design, maximum precision and unique performance – with an enhanced Corvette, TUNE IT! SAFE! shows that attractive, creative tuning in no way has to conflict with legal requirements. In the new campaign year, the seventh generation of a sports car icon stands as a symbol and shining example of safe automobile tuning and 100 per cent driving fun. The campaign car of the initiative for safe tuning, sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Transport, the Association of Automobile Tuners (VDAT) as well as numerous other organisations and institutions, sees its premiere at the Essen Motor Show (Hall 10, Stand F104). TUNE IT! SAFE! also continues its partnership with premium tyre manufacturer Hankook.
Tuning specialist TIKT Performance based in Upper Bavaria is responsible for the innovative conversion of the new TUNE IT! SAFE! police car. The Berlin-based authorised GM dealer Autohaus Kramm provided an extremely striking, sporty coupé as the basis, but the tuning experts of TIKT Performance went one step further to apply the full carbon fibre modular body kit "Undercut" consisting of a front spoiler lip, rear spoiler, side sills and wheel arch flarings. The 6.2l V8 engine promises a powerful output of 343 kW (466 hp) and a torque of 630 Nm. The TIKT Performance Corvette sprints from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in 4.2 seconds, reaching a top speed of 290 km/h. The TUNE IT! SAFE! campaign car can be admired live at Hall 10, Stand F104 of the Essen Motor Show from November 28th to December 6th 2015.
TIKT Performance developed grey RR-1 forged wheels especially for the vehicle. To ensure the wheels really come into their own, premium tyre manufacturer Hankook provided the Corvette High Performance with "Ventus S1 evo" tyres. These high-capacity tyres offer optimum comfort and top performance – in fact they set a whole new benchmark. On the front axle the Hankook tyres are size 285/30 R19 while those mounted on the rear axle are size 345/25 ZR20.
Signal system and official foil decor transform the Corvette into the TUNE IT! SAFE! police car
The car's fittings themselves are matchless, but to turn the TIKT Performance Corvette into a truly unique specimen it has been given a genuine police signal system and the official police decor. Once again, TUNE IT! SAFE! called on the services of the experts of Hella and FOLIATEC for this purpose. So the new TUNE IT! SAFE! campaign car is once again fitted with the special police signal system "RTK 7" by Hella, while FOLIATEC took care of the official police look.
TUNE IT! SAFE! magazine with a fresh new design
The new issue of the TUNE IT! SAFE! magazine featuresa fresh new design as it comes straight off the press for the Essen Motor Show. With a total of 56 pages it offers fascinating reading for tuning fans and automobile enthusiasts. Visitors to the trade fair stand can also look forward to expert advice, a special service provided by the KBA (Federal Office for Motor Vehicles) and a competition with attractive prizes. On all trade fair days there will be experts from various inspection and monitoring organisations as well as the NRW police to provide individual advice. And the Federal Office for Motor Vehicles (KBA) can inform visitors of their driving licence 'point score' in Flensburg on presentation of ID.
Die TUNE IT! SAFE! initiative was founded in 2005 to show that attractive, creative tuning by no means has to conflict with legal requirements. The initiative is sponsored by the BMVI (Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure), Hankook Tyres Germany, the VDAT (Association of Automobile Tuners), the ADAC and the AvD (German automobile clubs), the BRV (German tyre retailer and vulcanisation trade association), the DVR (German Road Safety Council), DEKRA, the Essen Motor Show, the initiative "Gib acht im Verkehr" ("Take care on the road"), the GTÜ (technical inspection organisation), the KBA (Federal Office of Motor Vehicles), the NRW police, TÜV Rheinland, the DSK (German racing drivers' association), the KÜS (independent vehicle inspection organisation) and the ZDK (German Federation for Motor Trades and Repairs).
