West Coast Customs the shop made famous by
reality television will pay more than $150,000 to settle accusations that the company underpaid employees for more than two years. West Coast Customs and its owner, Ryan Friedlinghaus have agreed to settle with the United States Department of Labor to the tune of $157,592 in back wages to 45 employees and an additional $16,830 in civil penalties, according to a statement from the agency released on Wednesday, April 23.
The company is known for building outlandish cars for their celebrity clients like Will.I.Am, Rascal Flatts, and Justin Bieber, was charged with paying employees what amounted to as little as $6.00 an hour according to the Department of Labor investigation.
