I was 12 years old when the RX7 FD was released in the US, at the time I was occupied with trying to make my bicycle faster, save enough money to buy a go kart, and Boy Scout camping trips. But the first time I saw a FD it had blown past my dad and I on the 101 Freeway in Los Angeles. I thought it was a Italian exotic car of some kind, it has long been one of the few cars I thought was perfect right from the factory. The styling both inside and out were dead on, so when this near new RX7 popped up on Craigslist I thought I should share it.
The car is a California car that has just hardly done more than 15,000 miles, and the owner says it has never seen the rain. The car also is rare in the FD world since it looks like it is 100% bone stock down to the wheels. A quick spin on the web shows that you can find a driver FD for around $16K, but all of those had been extensively modified and had over 85K, including one with a GM swap. This car being as clean as it is the sellers price of $25K seems like a good deal. This car's 1994 retail price adjusted for today's inflation would cost over $55,000 today.
The car is in the San Francisco Bay Area and you can see the ad by clicking here
