Up for grabs is a brand new, never registered, 1987 Shelby Lancer. The car is #6 of 800 meaning that it was among the first Shelby Lancers to be available to the public. Numbers 1 through 5 of all Shelby vehicles were typically reserved for Chrysler Executives. Further more, there were only 400 maunal Sehlby Lancers Produced! The car only has 22 miles on it! It has all of the original Dealer and Manufacturing markings on it, along with the original plastic on the seats and steering wheel. The original battery (most likely will not hold a charge due to age) will also be included. Also comes with original center caps and floor mats which are in the rear hatch! Both are interesting bits of Shelby history, but and the market for collectable 80's cars and trucks is slowly growing as guys in their 30's dream of Fox Body Mustangs and Camaros with T-tops, the Dodge Shelby cars never have had a big following, but perhaps they will grow in popularity. If I was going to drop $30K on a Shelby on eBay there are several 08-09 GT500's in that price range now and countless Shelby GT Mustangs, even a few really nice classic Shelby Clones. No matter what the 80's Dodges will never have the romance and instant recognition of a Ford based Shelby, and do you really want to have to explain to everyone at a car show what your car is??
