Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has given some credence that a Ferrari American team could soon be competing in Formula One. It sparks fond memories of Luigi Chinetti North American Racing Team or N.A.R.T. cars that campaigned at Daytona, Sebring, Watkins Glen, and many more. The N.A.R.T. team was instrumental in helping Ferrari win the 1964 championship in F1.
Chad Hurley the co-founder of YouTube and the money behind the now-defunct US F1 team told Autosport "I would be lying if I said that I haven't been exploring other ways of entry into this sport. I am part of a project right now that is trying to enter the sport," he added, admitting that he sees a customer car as a viable initial route. This coupled to comments made by di Montezemolo who told Italy's La Gazzetta Dello Sport: "I dream of a third Ferrari managed by an American team, with the stars and stripes flag." Putting two and two together it looks like a new version of N.A.R.T. could be up and running in F1.... well if they can get F1 to change the rules allowing three-car teams.
