Goblin Motors Wolfspyder Can-Am Kit

by Michael Satterfield - 08/07/2009

I believe that while unique and interesting vehicles are great, this particular one seems to be on the expensive side. Goblin Motors has recently created a new kit car (virtually) which will be available for purchase soon. Like most three-wheel kit cars built from plans in Popular Mechanics, this trike is also built using a Can-Am Spyder. However, the total investment required to put it on the road is over $40,000. This figure includes the cost of the Can-Am, which is around $15,000, the kit itself, which costs almost $20,000, and additional expenses such as painting, upholstery and other trim. In my opinion, it would be more reasonable to invest in a nice BMW 1 Series instead.

Goblin Motors' WolfSpyderTM reverse trike body kit is designed for single occupancy travel on city roads or highways in fair weather. It can be easily bolted onto a donor motorcycle (Can-Am SpyderTM*) and the vehicle is licensed as a motorcycle using the donor's title. All suspension components are standard and reused from the SpyderTM trike. The non-functional rear vertical fin may improve visible presence in traffic.

The WolfSpyderTM body kit is priced at $19,995 (Can-Am SpyderTM not included).
